Hey guys. How can I mount .IMG file? I tried Windows 10, Hyper-V, Daemon Tools, PowerISO, www.imgtoiso.com
None of that works.

I just need to copy /data/app...apk file from emulator to my Windows OS without reinventing the wheel.

if you only need to extract a file from IMG then you do not need to mount,
use any archiver which supports IMG, for example 7zip. Keep in mind that
android-x86 has IMGs inside IMG, and also system is in SFS format, so if
you need to extract from system partition you may need to use Linux tools.

This app will do what you want - http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2read/,
just tested on system.img extracted from system.sfs extracted from
android_x86_64.img, which I was indeed not able to open with 7zip or any
other apps.

Why don't just use virtualbox or vmware and access it from Linux?

that's right on the money....I have a triple boot windows / ubuntu /
android testing I had setup on
my wife's old laptop about 2 years ago....no issues.....new android-x86
build....no problem, just copy the relevant files to the
android-testing folder on my ext4 partition, reboot and start testing.....

most seem to get hung up when they are using windows / android testing as
simple a dual-boot, "use the force".....

you who are having problems are not the first to have those issues, just
use your friend google or whatever and find how others solved
it and stick with what others have shown works..........it isn't rocket
science and if it is to you maybe you should take up surfing or
something else.......with today's internet you have a world of knowledge at
your finger tips....USE IT!!!
I really don't understand why Everyone Doesn't have an Alternate boot up
for windows, or Linux for that matter, Hell, Even DOS, If your playing with
Partitions, Builds, And All that your gonna need one or the other,
Eventually....
Why don't just use virtualbox or vmware and access it from Linux?
