Use existing and working linux kernel to boot Android-x86 on baytrail dual-boot tablets. Possible?

Luckily for my baytrail tablet there is a dual-boot firmware and it can
boot kitkat and windows 10 out-of-the-box. Under kitkat I can run almost
any full-fledged 32 or 64 bit linux distro. Linux can be installed in a
chroot environment by means of a highly recommended app called "Linux
Deploy". The kitkat linux kernel 3.10.20 (x86_64) is then used by the linux
distro and it's rootfs is mounted at /data/local/linux. I'm a happy camper
and can finally run 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 on my 80$ tablet to for example
build Android-x86 :-)

The positive "Linux Deploy" experience lead to the following questions :

- could a similar chroot scheme as what Linux Deploy implements, be used to
start Android-x86 ? I.e.boot up the current installed kitkat and then
invoke a script to start up Android-x86 after killing the kitkat processes?

- alternatively, is it possible to run Android-x86 lollipop and any
upcoming version with the installed kitkat kernel 3.10.20 ? If so, it may
be simpler to replace the kitkat userland part by Android-x86

Sure enough this may only be useful for users of baytrail tablets with
dual-boot capability. But there are quite a few of those out there and so
far I saw only kitkat is available on them.

- Android will not run in a chroot environment.
- You could (in theory) replace the entire stock Android userland (which
is likely based on Android-IA) with Android x86. Not sure how well that
would work though (and if it would work at all).
